The five-year guarantee which applies to all Rolex models is coupled with the green seal, a symbol of its status as a Superlative Chronometer. This exclusive designation attests that the watch has successfully undergone a series of specific final controls by Rolex in its own laboratories according to its own criteria, in addition to the official COSC certification of its movement.
Every Rolex is delivered in a beautiful green presentation box that is both protector and keeper of the jewel that nests inside it. As the presentation box is also a symbol of giving, it is important, if you are purchasing a gift, that the recipient’s first contact with their Rolex sets the stage for revealing what lies within.

Lunetta zigrinata
La lunetta zigrinata è un tratto distintivo degli orologi Rolex. La lunetta zigrinata dell’Oyster aveva in origine una funzione: serviva ad avvitarla alla cassa, contribuendo così a garantire l’impermeabilità dell’orologio. La zigrinatura era, di conseguenza, l’esatta riproduzione di quella del fondello che, per le stesse ragioni, veniva avvitato alla cassa con degli appositi strumenti Rolex. Col tempo la zigrinatura si è trasformata in un elemento estetico, un segno distintivo di Rolex che per questo Day-Date 40 è disponibile in oro.
Quadrante bianco
La lacca offre la massima libertà nella scelta dei colori e conferisce al quadrante una bella intensità e una finitura estremamente liscia. La tecnica della laccatura consiste nel depositare successivamente sei sottili strati di lacca su una base di ottone. Si applica infine una vernice trasparente per dare al colore tutta la sua intensità e lucentezza. Quando la vernice è asciutta, la superficie del quadrante viene lucidata per metterne in risalto il colore. Il quadrante è quindi pronto per la tampografia e per la posa delle applique.
Oro giallo 18 ct
Disponendo di una fonderia propria, Rolex ha sviluppato un savoir‑faire senza pari nella produzione delle migliori leghe in oro 18 ct. In funzione della proporzione di argento, rame, platino o palladio che viene aggiunta, è possibile ottenere diversi tipi di oro 18 ct: giallo, rosa o bianco. Ognuno di essi è realizzato a partire da metalli estremamente puri, che vengono sottoposti a meticolosi test in uno specifico laboratorio interno Rolex dotato di una strumentazione all’avanguardia. Solo dopo la selezione dei metalli più adatti sarà possibile passare alla preparazione della lega e alla sua messa in forma, sempre con la massima attenzione per i dettagli. La ricerca di Rolex per l’eccellenza inizia dalle materie prime.
